“Let your light shine.”  Matthew 5:16

Broadbottom is situated in a beautiful semi rural village, surrounded by picturesque hills, fields and woodlands. The rich biodiversity of the  grounds serves as an excellent resource for pupils, scientists and the local community. The grounds are well developed with an extensive range of playground equipment, raised bed allotments, rewilding project, meadow, orchard and bee hive. We also have a sports field,  games pitch and willow dome. just outside the perimeter fence, reached safely by a footpath. The main building was built in 1898. with an extension being added later for Key Stage 2, followed by a modernisation project in 2011.. The inferior of the school has 4 ample sized, bright, airy class rooms and library. Some of the beautiful original stone features have been retained in the main building, giving it a very special charm and uniqueness .

We are extremely proud and honoured to have served the community of Broadbottom Village for many years, fulfilling the wishes of our benefactor Edward Chapman to educate local children. From George Ogden the first headteacher to myself as the current head, the aim remains the same,  with one exception,  we welcome children from all areas of Tameside and beyond.

As a church school we focus on nurturing a community that values and practices love, kindness, patience, and other qualities outlined in the biblical passage 1 Corinthians 13.

Broadbottom is patient, Broadbottom is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. Broadbottom does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Broadbottom does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

Everyone is welcome at Broadbottom, we leave a mark  when you visit us, because we care the most. We are small school, with a very big heart and that is what makes us different to the rest, Come along and see and feel this for yourself!
